The Humboldt Canal by Lee Berk & Jim Christison

Transportation and water were the main obstacles for the miners and pioneers in Winnemucca, Humboldt County in the 1860’s. Two men of vision conceived the idea of digging a canal from Golconda to Mill City. Construction, financial issues and the land were even larger obstacles.

Notes from a Stringer’s Scrapbook by Laura Bell

Local hospital records kept by W.L. Wilkinson 1911-1916 provide insight about the residents of Winnemucca.
