The City of Winnemucca, understanding the benefits of historic preservation, created Chapter 2.56 of the Winnemucca Municipal Code in 2018, seated its first Historic Resources Commission in 2019 and also became one of six Certified Local Governments in the State of Nevada recognized by the National Park Service in 2019.
